:::

"And then there's the personal question so many of Lassie's fans want to ask: Is he allowed on the furniture? Of course he is - but, then, he's the one who paid for it" ~ Julia Glass.

Private training is a great choice if you need the extra care without other students around, or if your dog needs that extra attention.

-------------

Soon-to-come: Day Training (if you do not have the time to train your dog, WE train them for you!)

-------------

Private training takes place in the comfort of your home / yard, or other locations depending on the training needs of your dog. Private consultations can also take place via Zoom.  We encourage you to read our philosophy to familiarize yourself with the kind of training we use.

SERVICES WE OFFER:

1)  B-MOD - Behaviour Modification private program, customized to your dog's needs;

2)  WAGPups - Private Program (for very young pups, under 16 weeks of age at the start of the program);

3)  WAGDogs - Private Program (for all dogs and puppies, from 17 weeks - no age limit);

1) B-MOD (Behaviour Modification private program), on-site consultation: $ price is customized based on the case at hand. Price includes assessment of the dog, behaviour modification (B-Mod) plan, follow-up, handouts, and email support.

Is your dog shy around people, fearful, shut down, or is your dog afraid of being left alone, reactive to fast moving objects (chases cars, bikers, joggers, etc.), possessive over his bone/toy?  Does he jump? Bark non-stop? Is your dog out of control on leash?

Whatever the issue, we can help. Our B-Mod consultation is an in-depth first meeting of about 1.5 hours.  We will discuss the best course of action for the issue at hand, and safety management.  This consultation will also be used to show you various starter steps that you can practise right away with your dog.  A few days after my visit, you will receive a summary report outlining what was discussed during the consultation, what is needed for your dog (and you) to be successful, and a customized training plan with pricing.

A little bit of information on what is "behaviour modification":

A behaviour modification program is for dogs in need of extra help adjusting to your human world.

We use proven science-based techniques in all our training plans.  Owner's compliance is key.  Beware of dog trainers who guarantee success, or who use a "quick fix", especially in agression cases.  Dogs are sentient beings, not robots. An emotional response to a trigger can take time to modify, especially when fear is involved.

Success can be slow and will depend on the age of the dog, his past, genetics, ethology/breed, health, and mostly, how long he's rehearsed the unwanted behaviour.  Success will also depend on how complex your dog's behaviour is, and if there is a bite history.

A behaviour modification (B-Mod) program requires compliance and consistency.  Prices for such program will depend on the severity of the dog behaviour and the reinforcement history. Our B-MOD program is put together to help dogs and dog owners. A questionnaire and a contract shall be completed and signed by all parties before starting a B-Mod program*.

For questions or to book your B-MOD consultation, please contact WAGDogs.

2) WAGPUPS - Private Program (for pups 9 to 16 weeks of age at the start of the program):

Did you get a new puppy and would like to start him off on the right paw? Start with your WAGPups program today!

Your puppy will be going through various stages of development until he is about 2 years old; however, did you know that the most important stage happens between 4 weeks and 12 weeks of age? By 12 weeks of age, your puppy's critical window of socialization starts to close.  By 14 to 16 weeks of age, the critical window of socialization has closed (depending on breeds). A puppy's development and behavioural standpoint are now established.  This means that after 16 weeks of age, a puppy loses his fearless - yet healthy - curiosity and becomes wary of new things. When a puppy is wary of new things, it becomes harder to turn him into a confident adult dog and it takes more time. Take advantage of that early innocence: start your puppy on our program very early on!

Our WAGPups program will be tailored based on the age and needs of your puppy. These are sessions all done in the comfort of your home / yard.  Virtual sessions are also available.

    What will you and your pup learn?

    -Based on the length of the program you choose, you and your puppy will learn some or all of these following skills: Focus, Sit, Down, Snappy Recall, Walk-with-me (young pups), Loose-leash walking (older pups), Place, Leave-it/Drop, Wait, Stay, Jazz-up & Settle, and overall Puppy Manners and Boundaries. -You will also receive guidance in these areas: Confidence-building games, Socialization, Cooperative Care & Handling, Solving Common Behaviour issues, Canine Enrichment, House training/ Crate training and playpen, How to avoid Separation Anxiety, How to avoid resource-guarding; What is PICA?; and How To Read Your Dog.

    3) WAGDOGS - Private Program (generally for pups 17 weeks and older at time of booking. All dogs. No age limit).

    Are you ready to continue your pup's education?  If you started with WAGPups program, the WAGDogs program is your next step!

    Your pup/dog has boundless of energy and wants to play all the time.  Your (young) dog is growing fast.  Many stages of development are taking place, including another fear period that corresponds with growth spurt, and starts at about 5-6 months of age.  During this stage, often times, dogs seem to regress and forget everything they've learnt.  Your (young) dog's teeth are changing, his gums are sore...this is the destructive phase.  This is also when pups test their boundaries at home and their place in this world.  Ouch! These are not easy stages and you might even start growing a few gray hair, but training is even more crucial at that age so that your pup does not turn into a rebel.  Also important, is bonding with your pup. A good humane-canine connection is primordial for the well-being of your pup and to establish trust.

    Note: This program is for dogs who are friendly towards other dogs or humans with generally no behaviour issues.  If this is not the case, if your dog is fearful, reactive to other dogs or people when on-leash, has separation anxiety, is a resource-guarder, or is exhibiting aggressive behaviour, please refer to our Behaviour Modification (B-Mod) program above.  If in doubt, please contact us.

    Our WAGDogs program will be tailored based on the age and needs of your dog. These are sessions all done in the comfort of your home / yard, or other - previously agreed upon - locations.
