What is "Private Training"? Private training means you are getting 1-on-1 sessions that take place in the comfort of your home / yard, or other locations depending on the training needs of your dog. Private Training is a great choice if you need that extra care without other students around, or if your dog needs that extra attention.
We encourage you to read our philosophy to familiarize yourself with the kind of training we use.
SERVICES WE OFFER:
1) Behaviour Training - Behaviour Training is customized to your dog's needs and is great for excessive barking, resource guarding, reactivity, leash aggression, fearful behaviour, and/or separation anxiety.
2) Manners and Obedience - Relationship-based program. If your dog is a very young puppy, this program will also give you guidance on proper socialization.
1) Behaviour Training:
We start with an 1.5 hour initial consultation. This first meeting is a great way for me to assess your dog, ask questions, and discuss what training plan would work best for you and your dog.
INVESTMENT - Behaviour Training:
--Initial consultation, one and half hour: $250.
--Additional one hour coaching Behaviour Training (follow-up) private session, each: $150
--Packages: 1 initial consultation + 2 private follow-up coaching sessions: $520.
--Packages: 3 coaching sessions (after purchase of an initial consultation): $420
All sessions in a package must be used within 4 months of the first session or from the initial consultation. Payment and contract will be required to get you started on a follow-up session or packages after the initial consultation.
Dogs who benefit from our behaviour modification plans:
-Dogs who are shy around people, fearful, shut down;
-Dogs who have mild anxiety when left alone;
-Dogs who are reactive to fast moving objects (cars, bikers, joggers, etc.),
-Dogs who are reacting to other dogs while on a leash;
-Dogs who are possessive over their food, treats, and/or toys;
-Dogs who practise nuisance behaviour: jumping, barking, biting/nipping (including puppy biting), etc.
*We highly encourage you to first see your vet for a full check-up, full blood panel (with thyroid), and x-rays if necessary, especially if your dog is an older dog, if your dog has allergies, or has had gut issues in the past. Dogs are champion at hiding their pain, and when there is pain, learning cannot happen.
Travel costs are additional.

2) Manners and Obedience:
The Manners and Obedience program will be tailored based on the age and needs of your dog or puppy. These are sessions all done in the comfort of your home / yard, or other - previously agreed upon - locations.
We start with one 1 hour initial consultation. This first meeting is a great way for me to assess your dog, ask questions, and discuss what training plan would work best for you and your dog.
INVESTMENT - Manners and Obedience:
--Initial consultation, one hour: $150.
--One hour coaching session, each: $85 (add $50 per session if you wish to have a handout emailed to you after each session).
--Purchase a bundle and save! Three (3) coaching sessions, each with handout: $385.
All sessions in a bundle must be used within 4 months of session #1. Payment and waiver will be required to get you started on a session or packages.
Some of the topics that may be covered in Manners and Obedience training (depending on your dog's needs):
-Door manners
-Leash walking
-Crate training
-House training (puppies)
-Adding a new puppy to the family
-Chewing, digging, mouthing, etc.
-Basic obedience
-Confidence-building games.
Travel costs are additional.

~Payments are non-refundable and non-transferable. Payments are all due in full upon request. Traveling charges, parking, or any additional overtime is due upon request. We encourage e-transfers as the main form of payment to wagdogs@shaw.ca. Sorry, at this time, we do not accept credit cards or cheques. If you need to cancel a booking and re-schedule a session, please give us 48 hours notice so we can reschedule your session at a more convenient date/time to you. Your session shall be forfeited with less than 24 hours notice. Our goal is to create a convenient schedule for you and your dog. Please book your favorite spots early!
